Hate incidents and crimes occur when hostility, prejudice or hatred is directed at a person because of their actual or perceived disability, gender identity, race, religion or belief or sexual orientation.

In addition to the five nationally recognised categories, Leicestershire Police also record hate incidents and crimes in two additional categories – Alternative Sub-culture and Other (this records any other identifiable reason for which the victim feels that they have been targeted).

Hate crime in any form is wrong, which is why it is important that if it happens to you or someone you know, that it is reported.

Stamp It Out is a project bringing together different partners and organisations all committed to challenging, tackling and stamping out hate within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and working together to encourage the reporting of hate crime and incidents.

On this website you can:

•             Find out what hate crimes or hate incidents are

•             Find out about the ways you can report them

•             Report using the online form

•             Find information about people that can help and support you if you have been a victim

Stamp It Out works with partners to provide a consistent approach to tackling hate, encouraging people to report hate crime and incidents and raising awareness of the consequences of committing hate motivated incidents and crimes.
